Opening Title Sequence '300'

For the title sequence I used iphoto to make a animatic of the pictures I took from the film.

From the beginning of the film 300 even the pictures of 'Warners Bros' etc show that film will be dark and eery. The smoke cover each title and then fading away gives the start mystery. as we move on to the title "300" is surrounded by lighting and smoke. the it changes to blood, this emphasizes the themes of death and destruction.

Then the story starts, a close up of skulls then a baby being held by a man who inspects him like a piece of meat to see if he has any illnesses or deformities.

Throughout the start a voice describes the events. the baby grows up to be a warrior and it shows us how he gets there. Close ups of his face with one eye close as a result of being beat up makes his facial expression chilling.

In all of the scene the lighting is dim but the contrast is high. Rich colours emphasize the physique of the spartan men and accent the authenticity and reality of the village.

The last scene is when he places his helmet on the pearl white ground and shows that he has become a warrior the close up of this emphasizes the importance of that moment.

Even from watching these 5 minutes you can understand even from the title the feel of the film.
