Opening Title Sequence 'Bad Boys'

Bad Boys is one of my favourite film simply because the two main characters Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, despite their different family backgrounds and situations have a lot of chemistry, they thrive of eachother. Will Smith who plays 'Mike Lawry' is the cool, attractive ladies man who has inherited a substantial amount of money left for him in a trustfund by his family and Martin Lawrence who plays 'Marcus Bennett' is the settled down family man.

The story is of two cops who work in Miami, we start off with tracking shots of the Porsche they are in and then shot reverse shots are used to show the dialogue with close ups to show their comic expressions.

During this scene they stop on a bridge, during their argument two men attempt to steel the car. a big part in this film is the facial expressions. When Marcus drops his food in the brand new car Mike gets angry and the close up helps show his frustration.

A low angle is used on Marcus to show that the guy trying to 'jack' him is hugely bigger than him but he ends up on top.

The music used in the opening scene helps emphasize the drama as being action packed. the sepia tones in the film symbolise the climate of the setting it also makes the atmosphere feel warm but tense at the same time.

The open framing used helps the audience feel part of the situation.

I think this is a brilliant film, all the camera shots and framing add to the chemistry between the characters and the plot.
